Akhlaq : Practice of Virtue / Morality

One of the greatest man who walked on Earth is non other than our own Prophet Nabi Muhammad SAW.

He got the best AKHLAQ of all mankind.

His love to his family, companions and even his enemies is really something we should really look up to.

He has a heart of gold.

He got an endless compassion to humans and animals.

He treated everyone equally.

He make it a must to treat woman and children rightfully.

He never taught us hatred. In fact, even to our enemies.

He taught us to smile. :)

He taught us to greet our brothers and sisters in Islam when we see them.

He taught us to be good to our neighbours, (despite the difference in religions)

He taught us to be kind to our parents..especially our mother.

"Be kind to your mother..."

"who next?"

"Your mother"

"who next"

"Your mother

and then your father"

He mentioned the word mother 3 times.

See how high the rank of a woman is..in Islam.

He never lied.

He never bowed to anyone except Allah SWT.

Once there was a blind old woman who hates Prophet Muhammad. All she does is swear and curses him. 

Since she was a frail old woman, every day, a man would come by her house to feed her food. The man would chew the food foremost before feeding it to her. Little that she knows  that it is the person that she hates most who is doing this kind deed every single day.

Little that she knows....

One day, after Prophet Muhammad passed away, one of the prophet's companion was tasked to continue his deed. The day she was fed by someone else, she said,

" You are not the person who always fed me! You are not him! Who are you? and where is the person who fed me?"

and his companion answered,

"The person who fed u is the person you sweared and cursed every single day. He is the person you hated the most. Prophet Muhammad. And he has passed away.."

The old woman then cried and embraces islam.

And yet here I am, making someone upset with my speech and actions.

SIghs..

I am embarrassed to be called a follower of Prophet with this kind of akhlaq.

and so, I aimed. for 2015, I wish to become a person with better akhlaq.

Slowly, but insya allah surely.

My inspiration for this post is from a Makcik which I met in the prayer room at Downtown East.

Top to toe, covered. Masya allah. Good for her.

But the moment she opens her mouth, it was nothing but hurtful words.

I am not sure whether her words are meant for us.

But I had a strong feeling it is.

The story is.

Me and Hamizah thought that Zohor was not over, so we prayed Zohor.

upon checking again, we realised that Zohor is actually over like 5-10 mins ago.

So, we might as well prayed for the next prayer, which is Asar.

When we were praying for the Zohor, this lady came in, and solat beside Hamizah.

She was still praying when me and Hamizah finished our first solat.

Once we realises our mistake, we went ahead for our second prayer.

By that time, she already finishes her prayer.

What I can guess is, her daughters are outside waiting to pray.

and then I heard something like.

"Buat yang wajib...blah3 (do only the obligatory prayer)"

and she said that loud enough for me and Hamizah to hear.

and then.her daugher came in..

Outside I heard smthg like "Masih ada 2 orang kat dalam.. (blah3)...Terhegeh hegeh..(blah3)

(There are still 2 people inside..(blah3)...(Taking their own sweet time..)

This is by far the most rudest comment I have ever heard to people who are Praying.

Praying mind you. I am so utterly disgraced by her words.

Just does not reflect her Imaan. Does not reflect herself as a good role model for her children.

Is not portraying the Imaan of a Muslim.

Even Non-Muslim would not dare to make such remarks, what else a Muslim covered head to toe.

That taught me something.

Never judge someone by how he/she looks.

because we never know what the person is like in real life.

It also came to my realization that we should really look at ourselves especially us Muslims.

Is this kind of Akhlaq acceptable?

Does the prophet teaches us to say hurting words to people?

Is this kind of akhlaq bringing good to the name of Islam?

This makcik surely has angered the 2 of us.

but ohwells, we are nt angels either.

so, i pray that this makcik never ever said remarks like this to other people.

and perhaps for us, to reflect on ourselves and take this as a life lesson, so that in future, we don't do things that might hurt the feelings of others.
